How to keep your clothes fresh when traveling

Pack light. Arrive fresh.

Packing smart is about more than choosing the right outfits. It's about what you bring to keep them looking that way.

Even the most carefully folded clothes will surrender to a suitcase. A travel steamer fixes that in minutes.

You've chosen the outfits. You've rolled, folded, and arranged everything with care. Then the bag gets zipped, loaded, and tossed in an overhead compartment, and the work begins to show.

A little preparation goes a long way. The right tools take up almost no space and make the difference between clothes that look traveled in and clothes that look lived in, on purpose.

Can I bring a steamer when I travel?

Yes. A handheld travel steamer is one of the most useful things you can pack. Creases disappear fast, and the hot steam also targets odors, so you can freshen a garment between washes without reaching for the laundry bag. Our Cirrus Lite Travel Steamer was built with travel specifically in mind, though any of our handheld steamers make a capable travel companion.

One thing worth checking before you go: water quality and voltage at your destination. Hard water can leave limescale in your steamer over time. If that's a concern, pack a bottle of Steam Water or pick up distilled water when you arrive.

Travel accessories worth the bag space

A steamer handles creases and odors. These few extras take care of everything else.

Fabric Spray. Our 100 ml Fabric Spray is sized for a carry-on and built for exactly this situation: days of wear between washes. Spray it directly onto the fabric. A calm, grounding scent of your choice is what you get in return.

Lint Brush. Dust, hair, and lint find their way onto dark clothes with uncanny reliability. A few passes with the Lint Brush and your outfit is back to looking intentional. Particularly useful if you packed a dark suit or blazer.

Pocket Brush. If space is tight, this is the one to prioritize. The Pocket Brush is compact enough to slip into a jacket pocket and made from oak and sisal fibers, so it handles hair and dried mud without complaint. It is also 100% vegan.

Sewing Kit. Buttons come loose. Seams give way. Steamery's Sewing Kit olls up into a compact case, inspired by traditional Japanese knife rolls, and holds everything you need to mend on the go.

Delicate Laundry Detergent. On longer trips, you'll need to wash at some point. A travel sachet of Delicate Laundry Detergent is light enough to forget it's there until you need it, and gentle enough to use in a sink with cold water.
