Four ways to care for home textiles

The home, tended well

A steamer, a fabric shaver, a lint brush. The right tools make home textile care feel less like housework and more like a quiet act of keeping things beautiful.

Steam the curtains right where they hang. No ironing board required.

Most people think of clothing when they think of fabric care. But the textiles that fill a home, the curtains, the tablecloths, the cushions on the sofa, go through just as much daily wear. They deserve the same attention.

Here are four ways to bring them back.

Steam your curtains and table linens in place

A steamer works just as well on home textiles as it does on a shirt. Run Cirrus 3 Handheld Steamer over a tablecloth laid flat on a surface, and creases release in seconds. For curtains, leave them hanging on the rod. Press the steamer gently against the fabric and work downward in slow strokes. The steam does the work. No ironing board, no taking things down, no fuss.

Pillowcases and sheets respond just as well. A quick pass before guests arrive makes the whole room feel considered.

Remove pilling from cushions, blankets, and armrests

Pilling appears wherever fabric meets friction: armrests, the seat of a favorite throw, the edge of a cushion that gets reached for every evening. It's one of the more visible signs of wear, and one of the easiest to reverse.

Move Pilo 2 Fabric Shaver in slow, even passes across the surface. The shaver lifts the pills cleanly, leaving the weave smooth and even again. Empty the collection chamber regularly so the motor keeps its pace. A few minutes of attention, and a blanket that looked tired looks like itself again.

Freshen textiles that have been stored away

Pillows, sheets, and curtains that have been folded in a linen cabinet for a while can develop a stale, closed-in smell. It's especially noticeable in older cabinets with less airflow.

The Fabric Spray neutralizes unwanted odors, reduces static, and gives your textiles a fresh scent.

Brush the sofa before you reach for the vacuum

Vacuuming the sofa is one of those tasks that gets put off. A Lint Brush makes it easier to stay on top of things between deeper cleans. A few strokes across the cushions and the fabric surface lift dust, hair, and pet fur away from the weave.

The same brush works on fabric lampshades, where a vacuum nozzle can feel heavy-handed. Light, deliberate strokes. Done in a moment.
